COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERS

We are always grateful for the support of our volunteers! Whether you have a few hours a week or just want to help during special events, there’s a place for you at Bynum School.

Current volunteer opportunities include:

  • Lunch Buddies – Share a meal and make a student’s day brighter.

  • Recess Rockstars – Help supervise and engage with students during recess.

  • Special Events – Assist with school-wide celebrations and fundraisers.

  • Administrative Support – Help with office tasks and behind-the-scenes needs.

  • Your Gifting – Share your talent and passion.

THE ASSOCIATION OF FAMILIES AND TEACHERS

MISSION

To build a vibrant community of families and staff through positive communication and working in cooperation to achieve the mission of Bynum School.

What is AFT?

Parents and family members work with staff and administration to form the Association of Families and Teachers (AFT). Parent volunteers govern AFT.
 

Who is a member of AFT?

All Bynum School staff members and families are members of the AFT. Membership does not require annual dues.

​​Volunteer Opportunities​
​

  • Staff Appreciation Volunteer: Help celebrate birthdays and recognize staff on appreciation days. 

  • Office Help: Provide clerical assistance in the office, or for teachers, including answering the telephone, copying, folding letters, and stuffing envelopes. 

  • Special Events Volunteer: Assist in all aspects of fundraisers, including planning, decorating, preparing invitations, and donor appreciation.  

  • Christmas Flower Sales Volunteer: Assist with coordinating and selling holiday flowers. 

  • Refreshments Volunteer: Help provide, set up, and clean up refreshments at AFT meetings.
