Brief Job Description

Bynum School provides year-round programs and services for children and adults who have special needs. Bynum School seeks an energetic, dedicated, and skilled Facility Maintenance Supervisor to organize, monitor, and supervise facilities, including buildings and grounds, and vehicle maintenance operations to support programs and services to ensure safety of staff, students, and visitors. This supervisor must be familiar with building operating systems, be able to diagnose problems, and decide whether repairs or maintenance can be provided in house or by a vendor. Bynum School occupies a new, highly automated building.  Operating systems include electrical, plumbing, HVAC, alarms, surveillance, and technology.  

 

The ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with staff, students, and parents is essential. The Facility Maintenance Supervisor will supervise an assistant and contracted services for grounds work and cleaning.

 

Job requirements include a valid Texas driver’s license, and the ability to lift supplies and operate equipment. Flexible hours are required to be able to respond to alarms, to set up facilities during evenings and weekends. Bynum School offers a complete benefits package that includes medical insurance for employees. A detailed job description, salary and benefit information are available upon request.

Special Education Teacher

 Responsibilities:

  • Prepare Individual Program Plans (IPP).

  • Assess, plan lessons based on individual program plans

  • Modify curriculum

  • Demonstrate working knowledge of disability categories

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university

  • Teaching certificate in special education preferred 

  • Valid Texas driver’s license

  • Experience in special education

  • Supervise teacher assistants

  • Collaborate with Therapists

  • Able to lift and have adequate mobility

 

Special Education Teacher Assistant

 Qualifications:

  • Work cooperatively with all staff

  • Experience in special education or a related field

  • Ability to lift and/or position students

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Valid Texas driver’s license

Special Education Preschool Teacher

 Qualifications:

 

Substitute Teacher/Teacher Assistant

 Qualifications:

  • Experience in special education or a related field

  • Work cooperatively with all staff
